Originaly formed in January of 1971, THE SANGRIA BAND features a combination of experienced and talented musicians, consisting of a five piece rhythm section, and a three piece horn section, with exceptional and versatile Male & Female vocals.
As a high demand musical group, THE SANGRIA BAND has captured attention from Los Angeles, Orange , Riverside, San Diego, San Bernadino, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. Their musical flexability allows the audience to enjoy music ranging from the 50’s, all the up to the current hits. THE SANGRIA BAND offers "Old School", "Oldies", "Top 40", "Latin", "Motown", and even a little "Big Band". The band has even ventured into the "Country" arena a time or two!
THE SANGRIA BAND has worked with many notable recording artists such as: ROSE ROYCE, THE INTRUDERS, CHUCK BERRY, BRENTON WOOD, TIERRA,
EL CHICANO, TONY ALLEN, EVELYN "CHAMPAIGN" KING, and THE TEMPTATIONS
THE SANGRIA BAND has been invited to perform at THE LATINO MUSIC AWARDS, and THE CHICANO MUSIC FESTIVAL sponsored by Radio Station KUCR 88.3 FM, held on the campus of the Univesity of Riverside.
THE SANGRIA BAND has recorded and released four CD’s, all available at NORWALK RECORDS. The band has also been featured at Disneyland's "Tomorrowland Stage", and at Disney's California Adventure Park during their "Summer Concert Series". THE SANGRIA BAND has played many popular local clubs and hotels, including
THE COMMERCE CASINO LOUNGE, THE SAN MANUEL INDIAN BINGO and CASINO, and regularly at THE SADDLEBACK LOUNGE!
THE SANGRIA BAND's versatility allows them to perform for many cities offering Summer Concerts, including the cities of Irwindale, So. El Monte, Pico Rivera, Baldwin Park, Santa Fe Springs, City of Commerce, South Gate, The Alhambra Street Festival, The Whittier Street Scene, and the Orange County Street Festival.
THE SANGRIA BAND has provided music for many corporate events, incuding Exxon-Mobil, Disneyland Hotel, Radisson and Hilton Hotels, Torrance Chamber of Commerce Wine Festival, and the Chino Fairgrounds. The band is available for private functions, weddings, anniversaries, or just about any event where a variety of music is requested!
